A GREAT DAY FOR GOLF!
The Mechanical Contractor’s Association of Ottawa (MCA) threw a fantastic golf tournament on July 10th; the sun was shining and everyone was is great spirits as they took to the tees.
This is the most successful golf tournament in the Ottawa Food Bank’s history, raising an amazing $50,000 towards the Food Aid program. In total, the MCA annual tournaments have raised $267,000.
The Food Aid Program uses the money raised to buy cows that are purchased and processed locally. This beef then gets distributed to food programs throughout Ottawa to ensure those in need get the much needed nutrients. To date, 1,670 cows have been purchased and processed, meaning that $712,000 worth of ground beef has made onto the tables of the less fortunate in Ottawa.
Our thanks to the tournament organizers with MCA, in particular Bernie Deslauriers and Peter Jowsey, and a big welcome to new General Manager, Mary Gauthier.
As well, thank you to the Major Sponsor, Modern Niagara, and Gold Sponsors S&R Mechanical, Dilfo Mechanical, Trane and HTS Engineering. A special thank you to Larry Murray for snagging so many great prizes.
It was a great day that will make a great impact in the Ottawa community.
