OTTAWA FOOD BANK

A family in need of more

The Ottawa Mission

Once a month, the Jeffrey’s, a young family consisting of an expectant mother, a father seeking employment and their 18-month old child, access The Ottawa Mission Emergency Food program. They are waiting for an available unit in subsidized housing and are living in a city-funded motel room while in limbo.  They have very little income to purchase necessities, including milk for their baby.  They are able to access some groceries through their neighborhood food bank but the supply doesn’t last the entire month. Fortunately, they can depend on The Mission for a top-up, including some cartons of milk when available.
